The Level 4–5 Extended Diploma in IT and Computing at London Gate College is a 240-credit Ofqual-regulated qualification. It is equal to the first two years of an undergraduate degree. The programme provides learners with essential IT knowledge and practical skills, preparing them for a variety of roles in the fast-changing technology sector. It also offers a clear pathway to the final year of a bachelor’s degree at UK partner universities, with the option to complete this final year physically in the UK.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should hold a secondary school qualification or an equivalent credential. For non-native English speakers, a minimum English language proficiency at A2 level is required to engage fully with the programme. No prior IT background is required. The diploma is suitable for beginners who want to start a career in IT as well as professionals aiming to upgrade their skills.

Programme Structure and Modules

The diploma consists of two stages. The Level 4 Diploma includes 10 modules with 10 written assignments, while the Level 5 Diploma includes 10 modules with 8 written assignments. Assessments are conducted through a combination of multiple-choice exams and written tasks. Each module has around 40 guided learning hours and an additional 30–50 optional study hours. The curriculum covers both foundational IT topics and advanced computing concepts, giving learners a strong base to progress further.
